Travel for Writers
Global Getaways for Creative Creatures
ABOUT THE RETREAT
The purpose of this weeklong writing workshop is to be in a community of writers, to be part of craft classes and group discussions, and to write. We also want you to have time to experience the world and for us to all enjoy ourselves, so we are not planning every minute of your time. Most meals will be included and we will often eat as a group, but if you need some time alone, you can split off.
We work with writers in any genre hoping to make significant process over the duration of the trip. Writers at any stage of the process are encouraged to attend.
One month before the retreat, each writer will submit a short piece to be discussed in workshop.
Poetry will be taught by Kate Gale, poet and founder of Red Hen Press, and prose will be taught by Florencia Ramirez, author of Eat Less Water.
Group coaching sessions will be held on the first and last days of the retreat.
The final workshop day will be a talk on query letters, manuscript submission and publishing by Elise Capron of Sandra Dijkstra Literary Agency.
